2009 Iowa’s Mosaic Diversity Conference
Scheman Center, Ames IA Monday, October 19, 2009 The 2009 Iowa's Mosaic Diversity Conference is being held October 19, 2009 at the ISU Scheman Center, Ames, IA. This year's theme is "Rediscovering America: The Inside Journeys" which will highlight journeys to and within Iowa. Our keynote speaker, Valarie Kaur, is a third generation Sikh American who created the internationally acclaimed documentary "Divided We Fall". The documentary was triggered by the first hate crime subsequent to 9/11, and deftly explores a journey of remarkable stories of hate, violence, fear and unspeakable loss while examining the question of "who counts" as an American.
