Civic Leaders Deliver Over 600 Handwritten Letters to Senator Robert Menendez

Highland Park, NJ – On Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., New Jersey Citizen Action and the NJ Health Care For America Now (HCAN) Campaign will gather at the Office of Senator Robert Menendez, One Gateway Center, Suite 1100, Newark, New Jersey 07102 to hand-deliver over 600 handwritten letters calling for quality, affordable health care for all in 2009.

Senator Menendez, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, which is responsible for drafting part of the national health care reform legislation, is a staunch supporter of health care reform, and in particular, a national public health insurance option.  The letters, collected throughout the months of May and June, were written by New Jersey residents from across the state, and call for Congress to pass comprehensive health care reform legislation with a strong national public health insurance option this year.
