First Ever Insurance Industry Diversity Roundtable

CHICAGO -- What are the emerging trends around diversity in the insurance sector? What are some of the ways the industry is identifying and recruiting top talent? What lessons can be shared among companies in insurance, the legal profession, consulting, and consumer products, about strengthening diversity in all industries?

These questions, and more, will be addressed at the upcoming first annual Insurance Industry Diversity Roundtable, September 29-30, 2010, hosted by Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc.. To be held in Chicago and co-sponsored by the Allstate Corporation and Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC), the forum will gather senior HR executives from the top firms in the industry.

"Innovation and development can't happen without a diverse work force and that is why it's such an important topic to tackle head on," said Tom Moran, Managing Partner of Heidrick & Struggles' Insurance Practice, Americas.

"Our goal with this event is to encourage open dialogue and share best practices about the implications of Diversity and Inclusion for the insurance industry and its impact on workforce trends, emerging markets, and executive engagement," says Billy Dexter of Heidrick & Struggles. "We are committed to helping the industry build diverse leadership teams required for success in both the global marketplace and in our increasingly diverse domestic markets. This forum will allow us to engage insurance leaders and further link diversity to business success."

Following a keynote presentation by Andres Tapia, author of The Inclusion Paradox, the roundtable will include panel discussions featuring the chief diversity officers of MMC, NY Life, and AON, and senior leaders from Chubb, Prudential Insurance, Marsh, Guy Carpenter, and Allstate.
