Florida Minority Rights Group Leader Defends Civil Rights Act Against Rand Comments

Dear Florida Minority Community:

The Republican Candidate for U.S Senate in Kentucky has embraced a Tea Party Theme: Civil Rights are not a right at all for our families and children.

Rand Paul is a mere symptom of the much larger issue: The Tea Party wishes to control our children’s future and rob them of both social and economic inclusion. I urge you to research this article link we provided you or just Google Rand Paul and you will see that if you do not become a VOICE now, our children’s future is in peril.

I for one will fight these forces to the gates of hell and back to ensure that my children see a nation of social, racial and economic inclusion. What will you do to defend your children’s or families future?

There are those who are now calling me a “Race Baiter”. My message to you is that you are idiots if you can not see the economic necessity of creating more economic inclusion for minorities. Our communities in Florida account for over 40 percent of this states population but only contribute a fraction of its GDP. No economy in the world can sustain this type of economic foundation. But this TEA PARTY and Rand Paul wish to keep our nation from realizing our economic potential.

A message to the TEA PARTY:
To hold a notion that Walgreen’s would have served Martin Luther King without the Civil Rights Act is DANGEROUS and outright ignorant.

My fellow minority communities, this is our country too. It is time to become a voice and battle the TEA PARTY and those who embrace its racial bigotry. It is time to build a nation of inclusion and one that is built upon a foundation of righteousness and justice. Our children, our families, our nation and our democracy deserve no less. For this is our country too.
