Innovative Household Travel Survey Initiative in Reno to Enhance Local Transportation Planning

RENO, Nevada , May 08 /Businesswire/ - The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is calling on you to provide your insights! 2,000 Reno households will soon have the unique opportunity to share their travel behaviors and challenges, aiding in the enhancement of local transportation solutions and receiving a monetary reward for their contribution.

RTC is initiating a crucial Household Travel Survey tailored to revamp Reno's transportation framework. This venture is designed to collect essential data that will inform and refine RTC's transportation and community planning efforts. Households are invited to participate in this vital project, with incentives provided by AST (American Survey Team), offering up to $100 to participating households.

Participants in the survey will be asked to document their travel activities on a designated day using a specialized app. They will be asked to report on their travel method, the number of people in their vehicle, and other crucial aspects that will enrich our understanding of travel behaviors in Reno. This single-day logging by each participating household will be instrumental in providing RTC with the insights needed to predict and plan for the region's transportation future, ensuring that all strategies are grounded in actual user experiences. Confidentiality is a priority, with all personal information securely protected.
