Him For Her Expands Board of Directors to Support Mission, Growth

OAKLAND, Calif. , April 16 /Businesswire/ - Him For Her, the social impact organization focused on introducing companies to historically underrepresented talent at scale, today announced new appointments to its Board of Directors and Advisors. The expanded team will help guide the organization as it aims to solve board diversity in the next ten years.

Francisco Alvarez-Demalde, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Riverwood Capital, one of the leading global investment firms solely dedicated to technology growth and scalability, and Navin Chaddha, managing partner at Mayfield and a founding supporter of Him For Her since 2019, join current Board Directors: Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber; Joanna Rees, Executive Chair of West; and Mike Xenaxis, formerly of Vacasa. Chaddha and Alvarez-Demalde bring extensive experience within the private equity and venture investment communities - key levers for unlocking board opportunities.

“Recruiting the best talent to the Board to access experience, different viewpoints, and quality is mission-critical for companies to succeed in today’s market,” said Alvarez-Demalde. “We have been supporters of Him For Her’s work for several years and look forward to further collaborating on the organization’s important role in shining light on world class diverse talent.”

“Having served on many boards, I know that diverse voices build stronger companies,” said Chaddha. “As a Founding Partner of Him for Her since 2019, I look forward to participating in Him For Her’s next phase as they continue to deliver on their mission.”

The Board announcement follows the organization's recent release of its fifth annual Study of Gender Diversity on Private Company Boards, which revealed the number of all male boards have been cut in half in the last five years, and that women now hold 17 percent of board seats. “We’re encouraged by the results our latest study shows and thrilled to add Francisco and Navin to our stellar board,” said Him For Her Founder and CEO Jocelyn Mangan. “Boards are recognizing the long-term value of cognitive diversity and we are confident we will see continued progress in this area.”

The organization is also expanding its Board of Advisors with the addition of Philip Chow, CEO of Humanitas AI. Chow joins a strong advisory group including Reid Hoffman, Brad Feld, Stacy Brown-Philpot, and Jeff Weiner.
