TradeStation Cares Shined a Spotlight on Its Local Community During Financial Literacy Month

PLANTATION, Fla. , April 23 /Businesswire/ - TradeStation Group, Inc. ("TradeStation"), a South Florida-based company whose subsidiary, TradeStation Securities, Inc. (“TradeStation Securities”), provides award-winning,* self-clearing online brokerage services for trading stocks, ETFs, options and futures, that aims to deliver the ultimate trading experience, participated in and supported a series of events during financial literacy month in April. These efforts are part of the TradeStation Cares Committee, a diverse team of group-level and subsidiary employees whose mission is to expand the concept of community by improving financial literacy and the overall health and well-being of the residents in communities where TradeStation maintains a physical or remote presence.

Throughout the year, TradeStation Cares collaborates to support various causes that align with its mission. In April, TradeStation Cares arranged for TradeStation to support and/or sponsor the Miami Film Festival, the Miami Dade College (“MDC”) Foundation and the Florida Securities Dealers Association’s (“FSDA”) Industry Outreach Program.

“Financial Literacy Month is an important time for TradeStation because it allows us to shine even more light on the importance of increasing accessibility to financial markets and improving financial literacy for our younger generations, and those who may have been gatekept from these opportunities," said Jessica Pione, Chief People Officer of TradeStation. “Our employees are passionate about raising awareness and giving back to the community, and the organizations that serve it, by donating and volunteering their time.”

Below is a list of events that TradeStation participated in and supported this April:

Miami Film Festival

On April 6, TradeStation presentedThe Miami Bull Projectat the 41st annual Miami Film Festival. This documentary showcases the creation of the Miami Bull, an 11-foot, 3,000-pound statue that both honors the city and champions financial technology. The documentary also includes highlights of TradeStation’s work in diversity, equity and financial inclusion.

MDC Film Screening and Student Managed Investment Fund (“SMIF”)

Also in April, TradeStation presented the Miami Bull Project documentary to students and hosted a Q&A at the BIT Center at MDC’s Wolfson Campus.

TradeStation was also proud to give back to the MDC Foundation by donating $1,000 to MDC’s Student Managed Investment Fund. MDC Foundation raises private funds to help the college to change lives, families, communities and the world by providing the opportunity of education. This donation follows last year’s contribution of $50,000 that was given to help prepare students to develop modern investment strategies.

“Our collaboration with TradeStation has been fundamental for our students,” said Nelson Hincapie, Chief Executive Officer of the MDC Foundation. “Thanks to TradeStation’s initial donation of $50,000, the Student Managed Investment Fund is thriving, and our students have real-life experiences.”

FSDA Industry Outreach Program

On April 18, TradeStation contributed to the FSDA Industry Outreach Program as the LiveStream Multimedia Sponsor in Tampa, Florida. At the event, TradeStation Securities’ General Counsel, Steven Greenbaum, received the prestigious award of FSDA Member of the Year. Each year, the award is presented to a current or former FSDA member who has embodied FSDA’s mission and has worked tirelessly to inspire, advocate for, and empower the securities industry and to provide education opportunities for its members and the investing public.

TradeStation Securities is proud to be a long-standing FSDA member and event sponsor, showing its commitment and support to improving the financial literacy of Florida residents. Since 1933, FSDA has been the voice of the securities industry in Florida, and its mission is to advocate on behalf of the industry and provide education opportunities for its members and Florida's investing public.
