THRIVE | Coworking Adds transform GSO to the Team

ATLANTA & GREENSBORO, N.C. , May 08 /Businesswire/ - THRIVE | Coworking, a flexible workspace solution with a commitment to philanthropy and community involvement, today announces the acquisition of transform GSO, an independent coworking operator with two offices in Greensboro, NC. It will be rechristened as transform GSO Powered by THRIVE | Coworking.

“We admire the like-minded thinkers and energy at transform GSO and we believe this acquisition fits into the THRIVE mission, as well as our model of modern workspaces set in vibrant, smaller-market downtowns,” says THRIVE CEO Ramon Gonzalez. “We’re also excited to introduce ourselves not only to the tGSO members but the greater Greensboro community.”

Originally founded in 2014 as HQ Greensboro, the company was rebranded in 2020 as transform GSO by co-founders Ken Causey and Andy Zimmerman, a well-known Greensboro entrepreneur and real estate developer. The first office, located at 111 W. Lewis St., was joined In 2021 by a second office at 111 Bain St., in the historic Gateway Building, a converted century-old textile mill. Greensboro will be THRIVE’s third North Carolina location, joining offices in Asheville and Holly Springs (and soon Chapel Hill).

“THRIVE shares our commitment to community, engagement and empowerment. They will enable tGSO to rise to another level and I’m so enthusiastic about the support they can provide to our members and the community,” says Zimmerman. “We have built a strong community and we’re a key part of downtown — I plan to continue to partner with THRIVE to grow Greensboro."

The largest city in the Triad region, Greensboro has a lively arts, culture and dining scene (with plenty of hopping breweries), many historic landmarks, and nearly 100 miles of paved greenways and nature trails (including the four-mile Downtown Greenway). The area has also seen a flurry of investment activity, attracting advanced manufacturing and clean technology businesses, including Toyota, which is building a battery factory for electric and hybrid vehicles (highlighted in a recent article in The New York Times).

Featuring a variety of coworking memberships and private offices, transform GSO’s two locations add up to about 30,000 square feet of space, with 74 offices, 11 meeting rooms, and open coworking space.

Transform’s philosophy of collaboration and connection complements THRIVE’s, whose vision for coworking spaces is to offer a healthy work/life balance and the option to engage with others in a modern, hybrid-work environment close to home and within walking distance of attractive amenities.

THRIVE plans to continue transform GSO’s commitment to aiding the local Greensboro community. tGSO has offered space for events, shared promotional items, supported marketing initiatives, hosted holiday food drives and more with community partners such as the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln Financial, and the Black Entrepreneur Program.

As more professionals’ demand to work close to home, coworking spaces are filling the need to create a healthy work/life balance while providing the physical workspace necessary for team building and mentorship. transform GSO Powered by THRIVE offers a variety of memberships designed to meet the needs of both large and small businesses and the modern, independent workforce of freelancers and entrepreneurs. Members have 24/7 access and are provided with unlimited drinks and snacks, as well as monthly catered breakfasts, lunches and happy hours.

THRIVE | Coworking

Provides freelancers, entrepreneurs and enterprises a remote workspace for the contemporary, hybrid workforce. The curated culture features scheduled events, 24/7/365 access, and monthly catered meals and happy hours in vibrant, walkable neighborhoods.

Global real estate asset-management group 33 Degrees invested to open 500 THRIVE locations throughout the United States and Canada, enabling THRIVE to now serve enterprises struggling with their hybrid model and to acquire coworking operators who wish to exit or scale with THRIVE.
