Bryant & Stratton College Partners with Jordan Health to Address Medical Assistant Workforce Shortage

ROCHESTER, N.Y. , May 09 /Businesswire/ - Bryant & Stratton College (B&SC) is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Jordan Health aimed at addressing the critical shortage of medical assistants in the healthcare industry. Through innovative collaboration and leveraging grant funding from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, B&SC and Jordan Health are pioneering efforts to increase the medical assistant workforce in the Greater Rochester area.

Under the initiative, Jordan Health has been awarded a grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation's Healthcare Workforce Training & Retention Program. These funds will be utilized to fully support a number of students pursuing a medical assisting degree at B&SC's Greece and Henrietta campuses. Upon successful completion of the medical assisting program, graduates will be guaranteed internship placements and employment opportunities at Jordan Health, contributing to the healthcare facility’s workforce sustainability.

“This partnership exemplifies our commitment to addressing critical workforce shortages in the healthcare industry,” said Michael Mariani, Rochester Campus Director at B&SC. “By collaborating with Jordan Health and leveraging grant funding, we are not only providing students with valuable educational opportunities but also addressing the pressing need for skilled medical assistants in our community.”

B&SC encourages other healthcare employers in New York State to explore similar partnerships and utilize grant funding opportunities like those provided by the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. By collaborating with educational institutions and investing in workforce development, healthcare organizations can effectively address workforce shortages and ensure the delivery of quality patient care.

“Jordan Health is committed to ensuring everyone has access to high-quality health care. In order to deliver this to our patients and community, we must provide opportunities for additional training and career development for our staff,” said Dr. Linda Clark, President and CEO of Jordan Health. “We take pride in the fact that the majority of our workforce live within the communities we serve. Jordan Health is a viable community partner and an impactful resource for our neighbors.”

B&SC boasts a long-standing and well-respected medical assisting program, offering students comprehensive training and hands-on experience in the healthcare field. This partnership highlights the unique aspects of B&SC's commitment to career education and community engagement, distinguishing it from competitors in the region.
