Inland Helps Raise Record Amount for Local Annual Charity Walk

OAK BROOK, Ill. , May 09 /Businesswire/ - The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. (“Inland”) announced today a record-breaking fund-raising walk event in which over 140 Inland employees participated on behalf of Wellness House, a local nonprofit offering over 500 programs to help cancer patients and their loved ones manage their lives as a complement to medical treatment and at no cost to the patients and their families.

The event itself drew over 3,100 participants and raised over $750,000.

“Inland has proudly supported Wellness House for over 30 years, and we want to thank everyone who participated in the walk to help this wonderful organization,” said Robert H. Baum, Inland’s Chairman and General Counsel. “As this year’s Presenting Sponsor, we are delighted to have broken past years’ records in attendance and contributions, which brings Inland’s cumulative total contribution to Wellness House over the years in excess of $2,000,000.”

“The walk, which itself is always a special event, was particularly meaningful to Inland as we dedicated our sponsorship this year in honor of the philanthropic legacy of our lead founder, Daniel L. Goodwin, who unfortunately passed away a few months ago,” added Baum. “Dan was a prolific philanthropist who believed that success in business gives rise to the responsibility of doing good for those in need, especially in the local community.”
