Rental Homes Remain Out of Reach in 2009

Dean Baker Co-Director, Center for Economic and Policy Research to Discuss Report and Need for Viable Solutions

WHAT: The National Low Income Housing Coalition's (NLIHC) annual Out of Reach report will be released on Tuesday, April 14, providing data for every state, metropolitan area and county in the country showing the hourly wage that an individual must earn to afford a modest market-rate rental home. The report also provides local wage and income data for comparison purposes. During this time of economic crisis, the report will underscore the challenges faced by millions of low income families, many of whom work full-time and still struggle to find rental housing they can afford.

WHEN: Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 1:00 pm (EDT)

WHO: Dean Baker, Co-Director, Center for Economic and Policy Research
Sheila Crowley
, President, National Low Income Housing Coalition
