Over 20 Buses Filled With Nearly 1,000 NJ Residents Head to Washington, D.C. for Massive Health Care Day of Action

 

New Jerseyans to Attend Capitol Hill Rally with NJ Members of Congress

 

Highland Park, NJ – This Thursday June 25 at 5:30 a.m. nearly 1,000 New Jersey residents will load buses across the State and head to Washington, D.C. for Health Care 09. We Can’t Wait, a massive day of action for national health reform coordinated by Health Care for America Now (HCAN), the largest, grassroots health care campaign in the country.*

 

Tens of thousands of people from over 40 states will gather at 11:30 a.m. for a mass rally at Upper Senate Park on Capitol Hill to hear from: Actress Edie Falco, HCAN Campaign Manager Richard Kirsch, CWA President Larry Cohen, AFSCME President Gerry McEntee, SEIU Secretary Treasurer Anna Burger, Governor Howard Dean, National Physicians Alliance President Valerie Arkoosh and leading Members of Congress and Senators.

 

After the rally, the New Jersey delegation will join Maryland and New York for a tri-state event with Members of Congress including NJ Senators Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg, and NJ Congressman Rush Holt (NJ-7).
