Women Immigrant Roundtable Tour -- July 13-17

New America Media will be co-hosting a series of round table discussions entitled "Women Immigrants-- The Changing Face of Migration" in partnership with ethnic media, women's groups and immigrant rights organizations in Miami, D.C., New York, Chicago and L.A.

These events will enable participants to discuss the implications of the new "female face of immigration" based on New America Media's national women immigrants' poll released last month. One of the most remarkable findings from the poll is that women are now outmigrating men worldwide--to hold their families together, to provide a better opportunity for their children, to participate in the public process, and for a myriad of other reasons.

These events will enable participants to discuss the changing role of women immigrants in these five urban centers and the possible ramifications of this for immigration reform.

The times and locations of the five events are listed below. For more information, please contact Carolyn Ji Jong Goossen at cgoossen@newamericamedia.org (415-503-4170)
