Alternate Route - 8K Run for Youth

Online Registration ends at 8pm on Thursday May 14. 

 

WHO:                         Alternatives, Inc., a youth and family agency in Chicago is hosting its second annual 8K race. Pre-Registration Fee: $30 before May 17th, $35 on race day. Funds raised from the 8K Run for Youth will benefit Alternatives, Inc.'s programs and services. Alternatives is a 38-year-old youth-led social change agency committed to providing innovative and high-quality programs to underserved youth living primarily in the northeast communities of Chicago. Last year, they prepared more than 3,000 youth to be successful in their lives by providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive and compete in the 21st century.

 

WHEN:                      May 17th, 2009 8:00 AM

 

WHERE:                    Montrose Harbor (Montrose Ave and Lake Shore Dr) Alternatives' 8K run provides for those building up to a marathon or half-marathon, a great 5-mile mark that has been USATF certified. The 8K run will have chip timing, providing you with a precise finish time. This race is an excellent way to test your late spring fitness, challenge yourself to a longer run, and enjoy a morning with your fellow runners.
