Barbara Lee Announces Recovery Package Funding for “Greening” of Ronald Dellums Federal Building

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) announced the Ninth Congressional district of California would be receiving $8,075,000 in funding to renovate the Ronald Dellums Federal Office Building from the recently passed economic recovery package. This renovation is a part of the General Services Administration’s (GSA) plan to expend $5.55 billion authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for measures necessary to convert Federal buildings into high-performance green buildings, renovate and construct Federal buildings and courthouses, and renovate and construct land ports of entry.

“The renovation of these buildings will be a positive step towards creating a clean energy future,” said Congresswoman Lee. “I applaud President Obama’s vision and will continue to work with the people of my district to ensure that we maximize the use of funds from the economic recovery package.”
