Black Caucus Praised For Efforts To Improve Opportunities For Minority-Owned Businesses

NAMWOLF Lauds Congresswoman Maxine Waters and the Congressional Black Caucus for Their Efforts to Improve Opportunities for Minority-Owned Businesses

The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms applauds Representative Maxine Waters on her actions to improve the economic troubles of minorities through recently passed bills.
Milwaukee, WI, - The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) lauds Representative Maxine Waters, Congresswoman of California’s 35th District and the Congressional Black Caucus on their actions in ensuring that the interests of minority businesses are included in legislation relative to the overhaul of financial service companies. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus recently rallied against a House committee vote on Wall Street regulatory overhaul bill. Waters said, “They got the message”.

Last Friday, the bill was approved by the House, with Waters support. The approved bill includes a plan to create an “office of minority and women inclusion” at federal agencies such as the Treasury Department.

“NAMWOLF lauds Congresswoman Maxine Waters and the Congressional Black Caucus for their persistence in advocating for minority-owned businesses”, said Yolanda Coly, Managing Director of NAMWOLF. “There is no dearth of talent and skills at minority-owned businesses. Rather, there has been a dearth of opportunities”.
