Bowie, MD (PRWEB) August 10, 2009 -- The 5th "How To" Conference: The Premier Conference for Small, Minority and Disadvantaged Businesses will be held at the Comfort Inn, Bowie, Maryland on October 28, 2009 from 8am until 4pm.

This unique, hands-on conference is designed to provide owners of small, minority, and disadvantaged businesses an opportunity to learn the intricate details of building and sustaining successful businesses. They'll learn all about the GSA Schedule, the government procurement process, as well as how to maneuver through the procurement process in the commercial business industry.

Frustrated with conferences that herald the millions of government procurement dollars available to small businesses but fail to tell them how to tap into them, Bowie, Maryland business owner KC Ford founded the "How To" Conference to provide the information the small business community needs to compete and win contracts.

"Now more than ever, in the midst of today's unstable and uncertain economy, small business owners need access to the information and resources that will give them an advantage. The goal of the "How To" Conference is to give them just that." says Ford.

Noted speakers will be on hand to guide conference participants step-by-step through the local, state, and federal certification processes. They will also help participants determine which certification to pursue first, how to prepare strong proposals, and how to win lucrative government contracts. Specific attention will be directed toward the benefits of securing a 501 (c) status.

In addition, conference attendees will learn how to effectively market themselves and their businesses, manage their time, and structure their businesses for success. Ample opportunities will be made available for networking with speakers and with fellow participants and, as always, the event will provide clear, concise information that participants will be able to use right away.

"This was one of the best conferences I've ever attended", said past participant LaJuan Persaud, Founder of Nsynchands Sign Language Interpreting Agency. "Many conferences and programs indicate that there are millions of dollars for minority owned businesses, but how to obtain it was a mystery. The "How To" Conference fully explained the process!" she continued.

Past participant Sherri M. Cooper of SMD & Associates, LLC said that the "How To" Conference was "Information packed! Best $$ spent this year!"

Interested business owners are encouraged to register now and gain entrance to every session offered at the "How To" Conference, plus be privy to numerous networking opportunities, a continental breakfast, lunch, a networking journal, and more, for one low price.

The "How To" Conference is sponsored by GettingThere4Him, Inc., a highly-respected resource for workshops, products and conferences designed to help busy men and women balance their lives and their businesses. GettingThere4Him, Inc. is the recipient of this year's 'Small Business of the Year' Award, granted by Another Approach Enterprises, and is also being considered to receive one of the 'Top 100 MBE' Awards from the Pinder Group.
