FORT PIERCE, Fla., Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Legends of the Highway, the moving new feature inspired by the true story of the iconic Florida Highwaymen artists, is set to make its official debut this fall. Starring Julian Horton, Kelvin Hair, Johnell Young, and Ashani Roberts, the film brings to life the powerful story of vision, perseverance, and creativity that defined one of the most extraordinary artistic movements in American history. It will be available on DVD and digital (rent or buy) beginning October 28, 2025, and streaming on major SVOD and AVOD platforms starting November 25, 2025.
Legends of the Highway shines a powerful light on the groundbreaking collective of African American artists who transformed roadside Florida landscapes into an enduring symbol of pride and resilience.
Set against the backdrop of 1950s and ’60s segregation-era Florida, it tells the story of self-taught painters who refused to be defined by their circumstances—selling their art door-to-door and from the trunks of cars to carve their own path to success.
In a poignant full-circle moment, Kelvin Hair portrays the namesake of his grandfather, Alfred Hair, one of the original Highwaymen and a pioneering figure whose passion and artistry helped define the group’s enduring legacy.
