WHO: Tonight, celebrities, community and government leaders, along with top business executives, will gather for the premier Latino event in the Northeast: theHispanic Federation’s Annual Gala. A Platinum Celebration, as this year’s event is being recognized, will highlight the Federation’s 20 years of service and advocacy on behalf of the Latino community. Hosted by Tony & Grammy award-winning creator & composer of hit Broadway musical In The Heights, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the event will pay tribute to four Latino trailblazers including Miranda’s father Luis A. Miranda, Jr., founding president of the Hispanic Federation; Nina García, the New York Times Best-Selling author and judge on hit show Project Runway; Angel Sánchez, world-renowned Latin American fashion designer; and Willie Colón, internationally acclaimed recording artist and humanitarian. State Farm will receive the Corporate Leadership Award while Project Runway Co-Host Tim Gunn will be making a special presentation. The evening concludes with a performance by Willie Colón. Other special guests include High School Musical star and current cast member of In the Heights, Corbin Bleu.
