NEW YORK – A group of immigrants, students and local activists today voiced their strong opposition to the presence of ICE agents in their neighborhood. They complained that these ICE agents were arresting local people without due process.
This demonstration was similar to others throughout the city since the Trump administration poured large numbers of ICE agents in the city with the intent “to stop crime.”
Today’s protest was designed to showcase the vital contributions of foreign-born residents while directly confronting the aggressive surge in enforcement actions of the U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
