NEW YORK, Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Kodachaya, the Seoul-born dining concept known for its Korean pocha-inspired food, drinks, and nightlife experience, made its New York debut in Manhattan’s Koreatown on July 31. Introduced by Group KFF, the large-scale venue spans 32nd to 33rd Streets near Penn Station, with entrances on both sides of the block and the Empire State Building visible just outside the 33rd Street entrance.
Inspired by Korea’s market alleys, pojangmacha, and street food stalls, Kodachaya brings Korean food, drinks, social dining, and entertainment together in one destination. The restaurant is designed like a small Korean market village, with house-like structures, alley-style pathways, wall details, and five food stations offering Korean dishes and pocha-style menus.
A 100% open island kitchen allows guests to see the cooking process up close, adding energy and movement to the space. The open layout, market-inspired design, and retro Seoul atmosphere create a dining experience that feels casual, lively, and rooted in Korean food culture.
One of Kodachaya’s biggest differences is its no-tipping service model. Guests order and pay through kiosks or QR codes, while staff bring food to the table. Drinks are available through a self-select beverage station, where guests can choose their own beverages, place them in a basket, and pay directly at the station. The system keeps the experience efficient and approachable while helping maintain quality and value across food and drinks.
Signature dishes include Kimchi Fried Rice, Italian-Style Sujebi, and Tomato Mussel Jjamppong. Kodachaya’s Kimchi Fried Rice, known as “Kimbbok,” began as a staff meal at the original Garosu-gil location and has since sold more than 2.5 million servings in Korea. Served on a hot iron plate with cheese and a sunny-side-up egg, the dish reflects the brand’s focus on familiar Korean flavors, creative comfort food, and shareable dining.
Beyond food and drinks, Kodachaya NYC is built as a social destination. The space includes a Korean-style photo booth for guests to capture moments from their visit, as well as a karaoke space downstairs for those continuing the night after dinner.
Open until 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, Kodachaya offers a new late-night dining and entertainment option in Koreatown. With five kitchens, open cooking stations, no-tipping service, a self-select beverage station, photo moments, karaoke, and retro Seoul energy, Kodachaya brings its signature concept to life in New York.
Eat. Drink. Play.
