Welker Brings Nearly 14 Years of Complex Employment Litigation Experience as Firm Continues National Expansion

GLENDALE, Calif., Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Lawyers for Justice, P.C.®, a nationally recognized plaintiff-side employment law firm, today announced the addition of Senior Attorney Andrew D. Welker to its growing Illinois practice. Welker’s arrival follows the firm’s August 2026 announcement welcoming Senior Attorney Alex Dahle, marking another significant step in Lawyers for Justice’s continued investment in Chicago and its broader national expansion strategy.

Andrew Welker, Esq.

Welker brings approximately 14 years of experience litigating complex class actions, collective actions, and mass tort matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Most recently, he practiced at Jackson Lewis P.C., where he represented employers in sophisticated wage-and-hour litigation, employment discrimination, retaliation, and privacy-related class actions.

Having represented Fortune 10 and Fortune 500 companies, Welker brings firsthand knowledge of corporate defense strategies and complex employment litigation, insight he will now use to strengthen his advocacy on behalf of employees.

“Illinois is a key market in our national expansion strategy, and we’re committed to building a strong team of experienced employment litigators,” said Edwin Aiwazian, CEO of Lawyers for Justice, P.C.®. “Following the addition of Alex Dahle, Andrew’s arrival represents another important step in that investment. His unique perspective from representing both major corporations and plaintiffs will strengthen our ability to pursue complex cases and advocate for workers throughout Illinois.”

Extensive Experience on Both Sides of Complex Litigation

Before joining Lawyers for Justice, Welker practiced at three nationally recognized labor and employment law firms: Jackson Lewis P.C., Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and Fisher Phillips LLP.

His defense-side practice focused on nationwide wage-and-hour class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and state employment laws, as well as employment discrimination, retaliation, and privacy litigation involving the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and Illinois Genetic Information Privacy Act (GIPA).

Welker also brings substantial plaintiff-side experience from his time at Wexler Wallace LLP, where he represented individuals and classes in employment and consumer class actions, civil RICO litigation, and mass tort product liability matters. He was appointed Co-Lead Class Counsel in consumer class action litigation involving a nationwide retailer and participated in litigation brought by a major municipality against pharmaceutical manufacturers concerning the marketing of prescription opioids.

“My years representing employers have given me a firsthand understanding of how complex wage-and-hour cases are evaluated and defended, and the strategies employers and their counsel use in litigation,” said Welker. “I’m looking forward to bringing that experience back to the plaintiff side, where I can use it to anticipate defense strategies and help employees enforce their rights. I was drawn to Lawyers for Justice by the firm’s commitment to taking on complex cases on behalf of working people and its plans to expand its presence in Illinois. I’m excited to be part of that growth and to help workers recover the wages and protections they are owed under the law.”

Continued Investment in Illinois and National Growth

Welker’s appointment builds on Lawyers for Justice’s August 2026 expansion into Illinois with Senior Attorney Alex Dahle. Together, these additions reflect the firm’s continued investment in building a strong Illinois practice and expanding its national litigation capabilities. By bringing together attorneys with extensive experience on both sides of complex employment disputes, Lawyers for Justice is strengthening its ability to pursue individual, class, and collective actions on behalf of workers throughout the state.

As Lawyers for Justice continues expanding its national footprint, the firm remains focused on strengthening its litigation capabilities, pursuing complex class and collective actions, and providing workers with experienced legal representation in key markets throughout the country.

Recognized Leadership and Legal Experience

Welker has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Labor and Employment Law – Management since 2025 and Litigation – Labor and Employment since 2026. He was also named an Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2019 through 2022 in Class Action & Mass Torts and Employment Litigation.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of Missouri.
