Louisiana Supreme Court Upholds State’s Grace Period Law for Filing of Child Sex Abuse Lawsuits

June 19, 2024 by |

NEW ORLEANS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Louisiana Supreme Court has reversed its previous decision regarding child sex abuse lawsuits, upholding a 2021 amendment to the state constitution which allowed survivors to file otherwise expired claims related to their sexual abuse as minors, even if the abuse happened decades ago. The law, known as a look-back window, created a unique opportunity for the victims. The ruling clears the way for such claims to move forward in the courts. Herman Herman & Ka
