LOS ANGELES,  -- All is ready for Saturday, January 9, at Plaza Mexico in Lynwood, California asMexico's largest toy drive, the Jugueton, returns to the L.A. area to give thousands of smiles to needy children. The event is led by Jugueton founder and host of the social justice program "A Quien Corresponda"  Jorge Garralda , who returns toCalifornia following a three-year absence.

Special musical guests for the event include La Academia stars  Raul Sandoval  and the recent La Academia representative from California, Luz Leguizama, who will share some of their crowd-pleasing hits.

The event is made possible thanks to support from Fundacion Azteca America,  Azteca America Los Angeles  and Fundacion Hermes Music. In addition to the Plaza Mexico event, toys will be distributed to local community organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Los Angeles Children's Hospital, Padres Contra El Cancer, From Heart to Heart (De Corazon a Corazon Foundation), Neighborhood Legal Services and Starlight Starbright.

El Jugueton receives the generous support of Mexican entrepreneur  Ricardo Salinas Pliego , founder and Chairman of Grupo Salinas , a conglomerate that includes TV Azteca and  Azteca America , among other important companies.

For 18 years,  Jorge Garralda  has hosted the most successful community support program in Mexico: A Quien Corresponda, which serves to channel community complaints and seek solutions. With a mission to help those who have the least, the Jugueton began 15 years ago to distribute toys during Three Kings' Day to needy children in Mexico. Last year, 15 million toys were distributed through the program, with a similar number expected this year.

The Jugueton is grateful for the donation of 15,000 toys by Fundacion Hermes Music, which supports children of limited resources, street children and indigenous communities in Mexico, as well as communities that have faced natural disasters. The gift is added to thousands of toys received at collection centers from individuals.

Plaza Mexico is located at 3100 E Imperial Hwy in Lynwood. The mobile consular services unit El Consulado Sobre Ruedas de Mexico will also be present from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm to offer assistance with Mexican passports, consular IDs and legal orientation.
