NAACP NEW YORK STATE CONFERENCE PRESIDENT HAZEL DUKES

FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT

NAACP’S 100th ANNIVERSARY CONVENTION IN NEW YORK

 


 

WHO:         New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg; NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous; NAACP Vice Chairman RoslynBrockNAACP New York State Conference President Hazel N. Dukes, and Officials from the City of New York.

 

WHAT:  New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous, NAACP Vice Chairman Roslyn Brock and New York State Conference President Hazel N. Dukes will make a major announcement with prominent New York City Officials.  The NAACP Centennial Convention will be held in New York, its birthplace, from July 11-16.  Cooper Union was the site of the organization’s first conference.

Washington, DC –The NAACP Annual Convention will unveil several sweeping new programs and an ambitious legislative agenda for the next year.   The multiracial organization, which was born 100 years ago in a New York City apartment, is the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization. Its members throughout the United States and the world are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities, conducting voter mobilization and monitoring equal opportunity in the public and private sectors.
