National Leadership And Diversity Conference To Be Held In December

Washington, DC, November 11, 2009 -- 2,500 administrators, teachers, and students from independent schools around the world will meet in Denver December 3-5 to attend the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) People of Color Conference (PoCC) and Student Diversity Leadership Conference (SDLC). The conferences bring together people of color in independent schools and diversity advocates of all backgrounds to celebrate experiences of people of color in independent schools. This year’s PoCC theme is “Moving Mountains, Mining Within,” while the SDLC theme is “Mine, Yours, and Ours: The Responsibility to Navigate the Rapids of Change.”


The conferences will take place at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street, Denver, CO.

Building inclusive communities for people of color: programs and initiatives to strengthen people of color in independent schools
Exploring racial/ethnic identifies for people of color: our many journeys and stages
