Ninth District of California to Receive HHS Funds through Recovery Package

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) commented on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announcement of the release of $338 million to expand services offered at community health centers nationwide. The money was made available by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Health Centers in the ninth Congressional District that will receive funding through the recovery package include:

·       Lifelong Medical Care (Berkeley) - $347,165

·       Children’s Hospital and Research Center of Oakland (Oakland) - $118,590

·       La Clinica De La Raza (Oakland) - $876,377

·       West Oakland Health Council, Inc. (Oakland) - $458,165

“Healthcare is essential to sustaining safe and productive communities,” said Congresswoman Barbara Lee. “These funds are critical to helping our health centers continue to give quality care to the people of the ninth Congressional District.”
