The president recently responded to criticism about his handling of issues that largely affect African Americans.
Washington, D.C. (WiredPRNews.com) – President Barack Obama responded to criticism Monday regarding his handling of issues that largely pertain to black America. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Obama refuted recent allegations from black congressional leaders that he has not done enough for minorities who have been severely impacted by the recession.
Obama is quoted by the AP as stating during an American Urban Radio Networks interview, “The only thing I cannot do is, by law, I cannot pass laws that say ‘I’m just helping black folks.’ I’m the president of the entire United States… What I can do is make sure that I am passing laws that help all people, particularly those who are most vulnerable and most in need. That in turn is going to help lift up the African-American community.”
