Telstra Incorporated Earns Great Place to Work Certification for the Second Consecutive Year

NEW YORK , April 18 /Businesswire/ - Telstra Incorporated, the U.S.-based entity of Telstra, was recently certified for the second consecutive year as a Great Place to Work®, which is recognized worldwide as a hallmark of outstanding employee experience and organizational culture.

As a result of a company-wide survey, employees overwhelmingly agreed that Telstra is a great place to work compared to a typical U.S.-based company. Achieving Great Place to Work certification two years in a row underscores Telstra's dedication to its employees' growth, well-being, and satisfaction and its focus on what matters most to its workforce.

To earn the prestigious certification, employees were asked to take a confidential survey administered by Great Place to Work covering a range of questions about how they view their work environment. Highlights from the survey include:

  • 100 percent of employees believe people are treated fairly, regardless of their sexual orientation, race, age, or gender
  • 91 percent of employees feel they are encouraged to balance their work life and their personal life
  • 90 percent of employees believe management trusts people to do a good job without watching over their shoulders
  • 90 percent of employees feel that when you join the company, you are made to feel welcome
  • 90 percent of employees are proud to tell others they work at Telstra
  • 90 percent of employees believe that management is approachable and easy to talk to

Beyond earning high marks for diversity and inclusion, work-life balance, management, and overall satisfaction, Telstra also received positive feedback on hybrid working, its people and culture, and health benefits. Female employees said that hybrid working has positively influenced their experience at Telstra by giving them increased flexibility, which strengthens their work-life balance.

Additionally, according to research from Great Place to Work, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a Great Place to Work certified workplace. Employees at certified workplaces are also 93 percent more likely to look forward to coming to work, and are twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits, and have a fair chance at promotion.

“We work for a global company, which can make work-life balance challenging,” said Susanna Dressler, Human Resources Team Lead, Americas. “Our hybrid ways of working as well as our focus on work-life balance have helped improve the employee experience. At Telstra, we work hard to foster an environment where employees feel fulfilled, engaged, valued for their contributions, and proud to work here. Those ideals were certainly reflected in the survey, which will drive us even further in our commitment to supporting our employees.”

In addition to providing valuable perspectives on the employee experience, Great Place to Work certification has been shown to help job seekers identify which companies genuinely offer a great company culture. Certification also gives employers a recruiting advantage by providing a globally recognized and research-backed verification of great employee experience.

"At Telstra, we believe our strength lies in our dedicated team. Being recognized as a Great Place to Work for another year is not just an honor, but a reflection of the hard work and commitment put forth by every member of our team," said Noah Drake, President, Telstra Americas. "This certification reaffirms our commitment to maintaining a dynamic work environment where we work as one, and everyone feels valued."
