PASTOR SHANNON WRIGHT WILL NOT RUN FOR FOR GOVERNOR OF NEW JERSEY

New Jersey-  Pastor Shannon Wright announced today that she will not be on the ballot for governor of the state of New Jersey. Due to her mother's serious illness, Pastor Shannon Wright was unable to file her petitions and make the deadline to be on the ballot. Pastor Shannon Wright has released a statement:

"Although I will not be on the ballot this year, I will make it my life's mission to fight for the issues that I stand for, especially healthcare reform.  Today, my personal situation with my mom has made it apparent that our healthcare system is in complete disarray. Any governor that supports our current healthcare system should not be in office.  The problems of our healthcare system has caused me to make a decision to either be in Trenton to make the deadline to be on the ballot or to take care of my ailing mom. My mother has acute kidney failure. She had a fever of 104 and trouble breathing on her own.  It is unacceptable that she was laying in a pool of her own urine at one of our own New Jersey hospitals because there was inadequate staff to tend to her needs. It's imperative that when someone is a patient in a hospital, they can at least be rest assured that they can receive healthcare and not be concerned about getting basic needs and human decency. This has got to stop! I sincerely hope and pray that our next governor will be someone of a moral character and someone strong enough to stand up for healthcare, so choices like this don't have to be made. We need a governor to fight for the issues for all of the citizens of New Jersey and not just those in the upper tax brackets." - Pastor Shannon Wright
