Commitment from JPMorganChase brings nonprofit to the region
NAPLES, Fla., May 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — For the first time, Prospera is expanding to serve small businesses in Southwest Florida. A new $500,000 commitment from JPMorganChase is enabling the establishment of a local Prospera office to provide year-round, bilingual entrepreneurial assistance to established and aspiring small business owners in Naples, Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Immokalee, and the surrounding areas in Collier and Lee counties.
Prospera’s business advancement services help lower the barriers to entry to entrepreneurship and enable businesses to thrive and sustain themselves. Expected outcomes include an increase in business revenue, survival rates, household incomes, access to capital, and job creation. Over the next two years, the nonprofit organization will leverage the funding from JPMorganChase to connect with local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, build community awareness, deliver local services, and identify potential local partners and additional funders.
“We are very excited to begin offering more direct and consistent assistance to entrepreneurs in the southwest region of Florida, thanks to JPMorganChase’s generous support and commitment to our mission,” said Prospera President & CEO Augusto Sanabria. “We have served this community virtually and with occasional visits but now look forward to generating a much greater impact as we ramp up our presence and establish a local office and staff by 2026.”
JPMorganChase has contributed more than $13 million in recent years to support Florida’s growing small business community. In 2022, the firm supported Prospera’s expansion to Jacksonville, where the organization has helped more than 300 small businesses in the last two years through training, support, and resources. Given recent significant population growth in the region, Southwest Florida was identified as an area of opportunity for Prospera’s services.
“Small and mid-sized businesses are the backbone of our economy, fueling job creation, local economic growth, and community opportunities,” said Chase Coaching for Impact Area Manager Amanda Dietz. “It has been a privilege to witness and support Prospera’s impactful work across Florida. We’re excited to extend their successful model to Southwest Florida and help businesses of all sizes succeed and grow.”
Established in Tampa in 1991, Prospera’s mission is to help start, sustain, and grow Hispanic-owned businesses to achieve community prosperity. Individuals can request entrepreneurial assistance from Prospera by calling 813-634-6246 or emailing contactWC@prosperausa.org.
