Truth in Disclosure Act would require qualifying corporations to disclose historical ties to slavery and human trafficking
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Reparations advocates, civil rights leaders and community partners will hold a press conference Tuesday, August 25, at the California State Capitol calling for final passage of AB 2599, the Truth in Disclosure Act, authored by Assemblymember Isaac G. Bryan (D-Ladera Heights).
AB 2599 has passed the full Assembly and Senate committees and now awaits a vote by the full Senate. The bill is a primary 2026 reparations legislative priority for the California Legislative Black Caucus and the Alliance for Reparations, Reconciliation, and Truth (ARRT).
