Statement of Director Donna Gambrell on the Release of Final Research Papers

Washington, DC – “When the financial crisis hit last year, we at the CDFI Fund were well served by utilizing the findings from these research reports which addressed critical issues related to foreclosure mitigation, homeownerships counseling, and financial services for distressed communities,” said CDFI Fund Director Donna J. Gambrell. “The findings are based on sound policy-oriented research, and they provide valuable insights into the roles and impact that the CDFI Fund’s programs have in economically distressed communities across the country. The CDFI Fund commissioned this research, in part, because it was conducted by respected members of the community development finance field who are innovators crafting new strategies to extend financial services to our nation's most underserved communities. The research reports are timely, and they will be used for future policy, programmatic and legislative developments.”
