“Ugly Betty” star Michael Urie to Host, and Special Musical Guest Matt Alber to Perform at the Center’s Annual Spring Gala, the Center Dinner

The Center Dinner
was created as an antidote to tedious gala dinners and this year will be no exception! On Wednesday, March 25, 2009, we are thrilled to welcome TV's "Ugly Betty" star Michael Urie as our host and master of ceremonies. And we are ecstatic and honored to feature Matt Alber as our special musical guest! You probably have already seen his video for his heartfelt and stunning debut single, "End of the World."

The evening will include a tribute to Richard Burns for his 22 years of service as executive director of the Center. Expected to make remarks are Speaker Christine Quinn and Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

***
Approximately 400 guests made up of our major donors and supporters will enjoy an evening that consists of a cocktail hour and an exquisite dinner, with a short program featuring Matt Alber as our special musical guest. In prior years the Center Dinner featured Margaret Cho, Bruce Vilanch and Rufus Wainwright, and our guests have included Speaker Christine Quinn, artist “asianpunkboy” Terence Koh, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, multiple-award-winning American composer Marc Shaiman, American playwright Terrence McNally, and so many others.
