Walden Offers Black Law Enforcement Program

BALTIMORE -- Walden University and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives(NOBLE) have announced a partnership that offers NOBLE members the opportunity to enroll in online higher education programs at a reduced tuition. Walden's School of Public Policy and Administration has also designed six new certificate programs specifically to meet the educational needs of NOBLE members.

"Walden is proud to partner with the men and women of NOBLE to provide educational opportunities. Emphasizing the importance of continuing education -- both your own and of those who serve under you -- can only help to advance the knowledge and insights required to uphold the guiding principles of NOBLE and of the greater law enforcement community," said Jonathan Kaplan, president of Walden, who announced the partnership today at NOBLE's 34th Annual Training Conference and Exhibition in Baltimore.

The six new Walden certificate programs -- five graduate and one undergraduate -- give NOBLE members, as well as other students, the opportunity to update skills so they can advance in their career or explore new career opportunities in the areas of public policy, criminal justice, homeland security or nonprofit management. For more information on the certificates, visitwww.Waldenu.edu/ppacertificates.

Walden is a sponsor of the 2010 NOBLE conference in Baltimore. Dr. Ronald Craig and Dr. Matt Collins, both program directors in the School of Public Policy and Administration, presented workshops on criminal justice and nonprofit board management.

Walden University's School of Public Policy and Administration prepares public service professionals to make a difference in the communities they serve while gaining a competitive edge in their careers. As the first fully online public administration school in the United States, it offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees as well as certificate programs.
