Women In Media Alliance Elects New Board

 MCLEAN, VA - The Alliance for Women in Media (AWM) has just announced its 2011 National Board of Directors.  The 2011 AWM Board was officially installed last week in Washington, DC, in conjunction with the AWM Board Meeting and Symposium on Women’s Media Ownership.  Valerie K. Blackburn, Market Controller at CBS Radio in Los Angeles, CA, will serve as the National Chair.

 

“The Alliance for Women in Media has an ambitious agenda ahead of us.  From our Symposium Series to the Gracie Awards to our 60th Anniversary Celebration, AWM is actively engaging, recognizing, and promoting women in media,” said Blackburn.  “I’m excited to work with such a talented and committed group of media professionals to accomplish our goals this year.”

 

Serving as Vice Chair of AWM is Kay Olin, President, Local Focus Radio, Atlanta, GA.  The Treasurer is Kristen Welch, Senior Vice President, Global Content Operations, Discovery Communications, Inc., Silver Spring, MD; and the Treasurer-Elect is Sarah Foss, a media consultant from Richmond, VA.
